Advanced Training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Taught by:
Carol Agneessens, MSc.
&
Michael J. Shea, PhD.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is based on an embryological model. This advanced course will detail the first two of the four stages of the dynamic morphology of human embryological development as applied to biodynamic practice.
Students will learn how the embryo differentiates into two bodies at the end of the first week post-fertilization called the embryoblast and the trophoblast. The client-therapist relationship is a direct analog of these two bodies. During the second week, these two bodies generate the organ of blood and invite the mother’s blood to merge for support and nutrition through multiple stillpoints in the fluids. Students will learn to relate to inertial imprints present in this stage through a focus on Primary Respiration and stillpoints.
In addition, this course will emphasize palpation of the metabolic fields of the embryo that construct the embryo and continue to sustain and shape the adult body. The metabolic fields relating to respiratory function and cardiovascular development will be detailed. This course will be taught through lecture, guided visualization/meditation and hands-on skills. When the biodynamic forces of Primary Respiration and Dynamic Stillness are contacted by the practitioner, the client is able to uncouple their emotions from life experience and discover a deepening in personal re-source. This process of uncoupling does not involve overwhelming emotional processes but rather a safe and gentle resolution into the natural fluid forces of the human embryo.
This is the first part of a three part series on the embryo. The next 2 course in the series will be
1. The Development of the Midline
2. The Folding and Unfolding of the Embryo.
Class Prerequisite: The student must have 100 hours of documented training in Craniosacral Therapy.
